"Sum of the Whole" commemorates my 50th birthday, which was a significant milestone. In the installation, a harmonious and repetitive grouping made of vaginal shapes is scattered along the wall and floor. Choosing this anatomical shape aims to celebrate femininity without shame or repression, reclaiming the body as a natural and powerful force. The refined, pared-down, and organic fragments of the body act as a vehicle for transformation. Their repetition abstracts the form from its source yet retains a familiarity with its origin, evoking a dreamlike and almost mythical passage. This work also references the nearness to nature, inviting all to consider one's universal connection, and the nature of existence.
