"Persephone" named after Greek mythology, is a powerful symbol of transformation, liberation, and duality. Her journey to reclaim her power by breaking out of oppression and creating a new mythological identity for herself embodies the cyclical nature of light and darkness; as our own lives are marked by moments of illumination and shadows. The 63 pieces represented my age when I embarked on this piece, and in every 7th coffin-like shape, dark blue is placed in the interior, symbolizing the regeneration of cells and the cycle of death and rebirth.
