"Without The Self" features a sculptural shape that references the human form but is evocative of a therapeutic water bottle used to treat ailments. The surface, appearing damaged by wounds or scars, is symbolic to Kintsugi, a Japanese process that involves mending broken pottery with lacquer and gold powder. This technique embraces flaws and imperfections, liberating the subject from traditional standards and aesthetics. The gold leaf used creates a mythic narrative, turning the scars into marks of resilience and beauty.
